Overview

Wilkins 475 valves are light weight and have a very low head loss of pressure.  Ductile iron body construction drastically reduces the weight that is normally asociated with gray iron bodies, and the patented Compound Check took head loss to lows not previously seen with a center-stem guided check.  The Compound Check provides a mechanical 'assist' resulting in very low pressure loss.  And reversible, replacable seat washers allow minimum down time and minimum repair costs.

Wilkins Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) assembly have a single access cover and a pressure differential relief valve positioned between two center stem guided check valves with stainless steel springs.  Included are inlet and outlet flange by flange, flange by groove or groove by groove connections.

These valves are designed for installation on potable water lines to protect against both backsiphonage and backpressure of contaminated water into the potable water supply.  The model 475 provides protection where a potential health hazard exists.  With small 'foot prints', the 475 assemblies allow for installation in cramped spaces and smaller enclosures.  As with all Wilkins backflow preventers, the 475 are known for their low head loss and easy maintenance resulting from Wilkins' Compound Checks.
